Wellies for Wonky Weather

Thursday 16 February 2017

I don't know if mother nature is messing with other parts of the world but where we're at the weather has been so up and down that its been messing with me and my fashion choices. One day its super mild giving us a tease of spring-like weather and then next we're in a white blizzard! However, the one item that I have been able to keep in rotation that makes sense are these Hunter boots that I scored a few weeks back.

I love this particular style not only for the practicality of it but also for the look it gives my shorter legs. The showerproof quilted detail of the top gives it a sock-like look without the extra bulk of the actual fleece socks and gives you the illusion of wearing a tall boot. As if that wasn't enough these boots are lined with fleece keeping your toes nice and cozy!

A similar style (that's also on sale) can be found here as these are limited in sizes here. Hope this may help anyone else who may be in the same boat!

Rawr Means I Love You in Dinosaur

Thursday 9 February 2017

Okay so being that Linden is only a mere 22 months old (stop growing) I knew I wanted to do a sugar free kind of valentines for her little friends at Montessori. While scrolling through Instagram during a late night feeding with Maren, Joni's  (who every mama needs to follow seriously) picture came up and I was totally excited that she had come up with such cute DIY valentines! She has several to choose from on her page but I knew Linden has been on a dinosaur kick lately so the dinosaur ones were dino-riffic (see what I did there?)! Go and check her beautifully made valentines by her cuties here!

I know this maybe short notice for some but I had ordered these neon dinosaurs that I knew would go great with the neon coloured paper through Amazon but I have recently been to the Dollar store and know that they have figurines there for a great price along with the washi tape that I used to secure them! Linden didn't quite understand the whole concept of what these were so she coloured two and was done. She was more interested in putting the dinosaurs back into the bag. When I told her they were for her friends she kind of had a meltdown but alas they turned out really cute and Linden is now napping. Hope this helps some mamas who maybe still figuring out what to do for their littles!

Gala Gown

Wednesday 8 February 2017

This past weekend the husband and I got the opportunity to get dressed up and get out of the house for the evening sans babies to a local charity gala. It was a great event and the food was to die for! I loved how this black lace dress hugged all the right curves without being overly tight giving me a great romantic look without being overly revealing. Hope this gives you some more inspiration as to what you'll be wearing this Valentine's Day!

Mad about Midi

Wednesday 1 February 2017

I have always been a fan of longer skirts but being on the shorter side (5’2ish) I find that it is difficult to find skirts that compliment my height without looking like it belongs to my mother.  Midi skirts are really that in between length that totally jives with me. I’ve also been crushing on metallic colours lately which is why this Zara skirt just had to come home with me. It’s a perfect pale pink that gives off a great feminine touch. Many may think this piece could not work with their style but I swear this can be worn in so many different ways that anyone could pull it off! I loved styling it both in a casual and edgy chic way! This piece is definitely Valentine’s Day worthy in my books!
